Wwoofing with Adventures in Sustainability
Adventures in Sustainability provides two options for wwoofers to consider.
Wwoofing at Sunnybank, Queensland
(Sunnybank Urban Sustainability Initiative)
The Sunnybank Urban Sustainability Initiative (SUSI) is an urban organic farm covering ¾ of a hectare situated just 13km from the heart of Brisbane City. Designed in accordance with permaculture principles the farm is undergoing a rapid development phase. As a showcase for urban sustainability, the farm will be the basis of an initiative promoting sustainable living in urban environments.
SUSI is located in central Sunnybank within walking distance of the Sunnybank Railway Station, bus stops 130/140/135, shops and parks.
Work at the property includes care of fruit trees, mowing, weeding, cob oven construction and much more. Wwoofers must show initiative and a willingness to work without supervision.
Accommodation is available in a fully furnished room within the house. All amenities including the internet are supplied to the wwoofer. Wwoofing at Sunnybank is a self catering setup whereby the wwoofer receives free accommodation including the internet in exchange for 2 hours of wwoofing per day. Minimum stay of 5 days, negotiable.

Wwoofing at Lisarow, New South Wales
Shelley's farm is a small farm covering 6 acres situated just 12km from Gosford, on the New South Wales Central Coast. The farm is in the development and rehabilitation stage and will be designed in accordance with permaculture principles. The farm is intended to showcase sustainable living on a small holding.
Shelley's farm is located in Lisarow within walking distance of the Lisarow railway station, bus stop, shops and bushland reserves. Nearby attractions include Terrigal beach, Australian Reptile Park, The Entrance and the Katandra and Rumbalara Reserves. Sydney is approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes by train on a very scenic line through the Hawkesbury River Estuary and National Parks.
During the development stage of our farm we have a number of projects that we are looking for wwoofers to assist on. They include bush regeneration, infrastructure construction, fencing, weed management, care of animals, planting and maintenance of vegetables and fruit trees and development of aquaculture site.
Wwoofer accommodation at Shelley's Farm is clean but basic. The wwoofer room is located 20 metres from the main house and contains a single bed, lounge, coffee table, lamp, small fridge, tv, radio and a small number of shelves. Wwoofers are expected to retire to their quarters from 7.00pm each evening.
